July 31:  Yesterday was Day of Friendship here in Paraguay and words cannot describe the great fun we had! I was invited to give a presentation at the meeting of retired professors. How wonderful is this group of women. All are beautiful, with savvy, intelligence and a loving attitude.

There were several fun skits and poetry. I recorded these and will post here. Afterwards, we sang songs they all knew, with violin and guitar accompaniment. Later, I gave my presentation on the topic of: “How to Have Joy in Your Life.” We discussed good methods for starting your day with a plan and with prayer, dancing and stretching, gratitude, journaling, nutrition, and developing one’s good character traits. At one point I asked them if they were understanding my spanish and they actually applauded! That was an enormous gift to me on this Day of Friendship!

Ayer fue el Día de la Amistad aquí en Paraguay y no hay palabras para describir la gran diversión que tuvimos! Me invitaron a dar una presentación en la reunión de profesores jubilados. ¡Qué maravilloso es este grupo de mujeres. Todos son hermosos, con un profundo conocimiento, la inteligencia y una actitud amorosa.

Hubo varios sketches y poesía. Grabé estos y voy a publicar aquí. Después, cantamos varias canciones bonitas con violín y guitarra de acompañamiento. Más tarde, me di mi presentación sobre el tema de: “Cómo tener alegría en tu vida.” Hablamos de buenos métodos para comenzar su día con un plan y con la oración, el baile y el estiramiento, la gratitud, el diario, la nutrición y el desarrollo de los buenos rasgos de carácter. En un momento les pregunté si ellos entendían mi español y que en realidad aplaudí. Eso fue un regalo enorme para mí en este Día de la Amistad! — with Clarissa Villanueva.
